I grew up on a small family farm in Indiana, and went to high school at a time when it wasn't cool for a girl to be smart. Finding my way to Wellesley opened up a whole new world for me, and didn't destroy any of the important Midwestern values I brought with me. My education there, including the academic, political, cultural, and social, has brought me wonderful opportunities in life and helped me bring my skills and beliefs to others in untold important and fulfilling ways.
