I attended high school in a small town in Maryland where girls were not expected to have academic interests. It was a kind of liberation to come to a setting which focused on developing the talents and skills of young women. The beauty of the campus was a source of inspiration and friendships also fed the soul. The academic highlight was doing a senior honor's thesis, which was excellent preparation for graduate school.
Having gone to Wellesley gave me confidence in tackling challenges in my life and career.
