The education I received at Wellesley, from 1952-1955,had a profound influence on my life. It taught me how to think, how to reason, how to appreciate art and English literature, how a language (Italian) and an Italian professor can add music and joy to your education. English Lit was my major, and the foundation of my career, but Italian and Signorina Della Piana were truly joyous. Socially, I did not have a good experience, as I had to be come a commuter after my freshman year, and had not real social life at college. But the years have shown me that what I did receive, the ability to think for myself, was invaluable.
Wellesley shaped my life for better and worse.
