As I've grown older, I've seen more clearly where another choice might have led, particularly in speaking with women in my cohort who did not attend single sex colleges—and many regretting it. I went to a large co-ed public high school and received an excellent education, but it was better to be a cheerleader than an egghead. Wellesley provided me with a big boost to self-esteem and at last, I actually spoke out in class. I appreciate the way Wellesley has become more diverse, just a better place in many ways for all women.
