From Wellesley I gained strength in writing skills, depth in reading great literature, but more important, an understanding of how to become an English teacher by watching how great scholars were also great teachers. An extraordinary Education Department taught me to perceive differences in the way individuals learn, such a gift for a teacher.
Most important Wellesley's world held me through a most difficult time of the death of my father, of my fiance's being missing in action and later a prisoner of war who barely survived. It prepared me for the time after World War Two when our world and our private lives had to be put back together. Thank you.
